We are thrilled to welcome Free Guitars 4 Kids (FG4K) as a new partner of Music Has Healing Power!
Free Guitars 4 Kids is a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of young people in underserved communities through the gift of a guitar. Founded in 2020, FG4K grew from a simple but powerful idea: every child should have the opportunity to experience the creativity, confidence, connection, and joy that can come from making music.
What makes FG4K’s approach especially meaningful is the way it works with organizations already making a difference in children’s lives. Rather than building new programs from the ground up, FG4K partners with schools, nonprofits, after-school programs, and trusted mentors, providing guitars that strengthen the music education, mentorship, and relationships already in place.
Today, more than 4,000 guitars have been placed into the hands of young people through FG4K’s growing network. Each guitar represents much more than an instrument. It can become a child’s creative voice, a source of confidence and self-expression, and the beginning of a lifelong relationship with music.
That belief resonates deeply with all of us at Music Has Healing Power. Our organizations share the understanding that access to music can open doors, lift spirits, create connections, and change lives. Whether music begins in a hospital room, a classroom, an after-school program, or with a child’s very first guitar, its ability to bring hope and possibility is extraordinary.
We are excited about this new partnership and grateful to the Free Guitars 4 Kids team for the work they are doing to make music accessible to more children.
